I just love senior shoots….there’s something to say for having a subject who will stay in one place and laugh at my dumb jokes (unlike the toddlers that I am typically chasing:) – though I love it!) But a senior shoot is so fun – because there’s so much to planning different outfits, different locations…..Rachael is just a sweet, sweet, beautiful girl – inside and out – whom I’ve had the pleasure of knowing through Elevation Church. She was just way too easy for me to photograph….and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening together …beginning at a friend’s place with some horses Rachael has ridden in the past….and ending in cute and quaint downtown Waxhaw, NC.” Thanks so much Rachael for calling on me!
Bryce and her mother and I got together for some pictures a few weeks ago….and to make Bryce laugh, all I had to do was tell some stories about my own two little ones….whom Bryce is VERY familiar with! You see, Bryce was my “saving grace” this summer and helped my out with Rylee Ann and Wyatt…while I was adjusting to life with two little ones and a thriving photography business (who am I kidding, I’m STILL trying to adjust to that :)) Bryce would show up in the mornings with a smile on her face – and jump right on whatever task was at hand…whether it was making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or playing lifeguard in the pool. Bryce also is very involved with the little ones at our church…and does a TON of babysitting in her free time…she really does have a gift with kids and I’m hoping she doesn’t let that go to waste:). So we again hit up Morning Glory Farm (my new favorite GORGEOUS property to shoot on!) and then a cotton field and a soybean field. Ironically Bryce’s grandfather farms soybeans….so I have a feeling he’ll think these pics are pretty cool too! And wait til you see what a gorgeous sunset we had that evening….Bryce – I love you and am so excited for you and what the next year brings!!!!
A few weeks ago I got to shoot sweet Sarah Morales’ senior pictures. I’ve had the privilege of getting to know Sarah over the past few years through the high school girls group I’ve been involved with at Elevation Church. I’ve watched Sarah mature into a beautiful woman of God – and am so excited to see where she decides to go! (though sad to see her go of course too!) So Sarah and her mom and I hit up Morning Glory Farm...then a cotton field…then just BARELY made it to church to get a few shots at the “graffiti” walls. That very spot happens to be the same place I got to photograph Sarah getting baptized this fall! So ya’ll enjoy….love you Sarah!
So it’s been almost two weeks since I last posted….and I’ve just been running like crazy trying to keep up with shoots and editing…with the holidays approaching it’s just that time of year! So expect to hopefully see a blog post every day for awhile until I finally catch up!
And I’ll start my “catching up” with a sweet little senior shoot I did a few weeks ago with the lovely Gabriela! Gabriela and her mother Connie drove quite a distance to my home – only to be met with clouds…and eventually RAIN! But, she was a trooper and we decided that the “show must go on”….so it rained and I clicked away….and I’m glad that I did because the results were BEAUTIFUL!
With outdoor photography you just have to learn to adapt to Mother Nature….we’ll be doing some of that the next few weeks as it cools off a bit. I’ve instructed my clients to plan for sweaters…cute pea coats…hats and scarves! Can’t wait!
Stay tuned….two other lovely senior gals will appear here on the blog in a few days…..and, no worries Class of 2012! If we didn’t get your shoot in this fall, I’ve started booking for the spring so hop on it and get your appointment!
Meet Maggie – one of the happiest, most bubbly little things that I have ever known. I’ve known Maggie for quite some time now through the high school girls group I’ve been involved with at Elevation Church. So let me just take a minute to brag on this little “all American small town gal.” Maggie is not only one of the most down to earth and sweet things you’ve ever met, but she also happens to be WAY SMART (taking all those tough classes that make your brain hurt) – WAY PEPPY (leading the local Piedmont High cheerleading squad) – WAY GORGEOUS (as if this needs explanation, but she IS the reigning Miss Piedmont High) – and WAY LORD LOVING (with a spirit for her Savior that she carries with her everywhere she goes). So of course I was just tickled to death when she asked me to take her senior pics!!!! And – I just can’t wait to see where Maggie is going to go in life…..it’s going to be BIG for sure with a spirit and beauty like Maggie’s!
(By the way, check out these super cool eyes of hers!!!!)
The other thing that is really cool is that Maggie’s parents – Scott and Nan Vuncannon – have just recently opened up a gorgeous outdoor wedding venue just down the road from me here in Union County. It’s called Morning Glory Farm and you need to click here to go check them out and become their fan on Facebook and show them some love! And – check back because in a few months once some more of the construction is wrapped up at their farm, I’ll have some photos of their gorgeous property! So of course – Morning Glory Farm is exactly where we did Maggie’s shoot!
Enjoy these pictures of Miss Maggie!!! (and her many faces in the “out takes” at the end – which I warned her I was going to do if she kept being so silly!!!)
And the out takes…………..:) – Love you Maggie!
