2016 was a blur….but a BLESSED BLUR for sure.
This is the first year that I didn’t beat myself up over my lack of blogging…or feel guilty that I wasn’t posting sneak peeks on social media like other photographers…those things didn’t even hold a spot on my never-ending “to-do list” in 2016 lol…..
Instead, I just enjoyed this job that I get to do….enjoyed seeing the families that I get to see each year…snuggling babies…loved doing the shoots that I could and smiling over the pictures as I always do (sometimes tearing up:)) when I’m editing them….enjoyed sharing the pictures with the parents and hearing how tickled they were…and at the same time, enjoyed this season of my own life…one that is full of laughter and laundry…cooking and crying….homeschooling, yes….lots of mission trips to Guatemala…no, not a whole lot of sleep lol…..
I’ve realized how fast my own little ones are growing….and that I can’t get that time back….
I’ve realized that I just CAN’T do everything that I’d like to do…and be the wife and mom that I know I’m called to be…
Boy am I blessed with clients who get that…clients who just want me to capture this season of life for them with pictures…clients that are ok that I don’t have fancy words and blog posts ….clients who email me sometimes and say “I don’t know if you’re still shooting…I know you’re really busy…but I’d love to have pictures if you’re still available….”
I giggle…and don’t feel guilty anymore…I’m happy I get the chance to make a few kids laugh at my corny jokes and sock monkey…or chase them around my red chippy truck…or talk to them about my pet Texas Longhorns…then make their parents laugh and cry with what we captured….it’s good stuff.
2016 hit my sweet spot…thank you to all of my lovely families!
Here’s a little review of 2016…now that we are almost 3 months into 2017 🙂
BTW, if you’d like pictures this year, let me know now as my calendar is filling and a little more limited…because time is just limited and precious these days!
