This sweet family brought along a new little brother that I hadn’t met before….and little Sam was down in the rocks and dirt like the rest of them at the railroad tracks!

Happy Cyber Monday everyone! I thought I’d offer my own little “cyber special”…..with Christmas just around the corner, remember that we offer gift certificates! And – through midnight on Friday this week my own little “offer” is this…..I will add an additional “$50 credit” to the amount of the gift certificate you purchase! So if you purchase the “minimum amount” of $100, your certificate will actually be good for $150! The following “rules” apply: these can only be used towards new appointments and cannot be combined with any other future discounts. And please, only one per family!
So last Christmas the Walkers actually received a gift certificate from their son and daughter-in-law for a family photoshoot….and they held onto it til the fall colors came in around their house and their fiftieth wedding anniversary was right around the corner….and I think it was well worth the wait! I sure enjoyed meeting you and your beautiful family Rachel and Jim!
So a few months ago my friend Kristy started talking about her Christmas photoshoot…and how she wanted things to look “dead.” I didn’t quite get what she was talking about until she shared the link to another photoshoot that kinda inspired her….click here to see the shoot. Well that particular shoot that she liked took place in Washington state – on a very foggy day – so I had to get a little creative because for obvious reasons, we couldn’t do the shoot at the same location. So one Sunday afternoon I led my family on a “wild goose chase” looking for some “big, dead, trees.” I stopped off at a home near an old tree I have always loved and asked who owned the property and whether I could shoot there. Well, one thing led to another and I was driving around down some country roads (well, my husband was, I was doing what I do best, “driving” from the passengers’ side) trying to find the home of the guy who owned the property I wanted to shoot on…I try to be a little more careful and considerate during hunting season because I don’t want to get in the line of fire – literally – or mess anyone up leaving my human scent around and scaring off the “hunted”). So as we were riding around trying to find “a bunch of turkey houses and tractors” where the property owner lived, I came across the neatest little patch of bare trees….and thought it would be just be perfect. Of course there wasn’t anyone home for us to ask permission from….so I went with the old “shoot and then ask forgiveness if you get caught”……I think that might be what I do best! As of yet, I’ve only had people come out to see what I’m doing on the side of the road – and then act flattered that I picked their side of the road to shoot :). So on the day of the shoot, the weather was particularly gloomy looking – which was perfect for what we wanted – and we hit the little patch of trees…and then finished up at my favorite Morning Glory Farm where we busted out my funky wide lens and some vintage Christmas lights and candy canes! Check it out!
Hard to believe that this sweet pea is already 6 months old! It seems like just yesterday she was a newbie over here sleeping on some hay stacks for pictures!
This time around her parents brought along a few critters….the family dogs and some baby chicks. And apparently Abigail takes after her father (who owns a few chicken houses) already….as you’ll see, she has no problem handling the chicks…and she also has a pretty good grip to her!:)
And here is that serious grip I was talking about!!!!! I promise the chick was fine…maybe just a little scared after the photoshoot! 🙂
